EcoSculptStudios prides itself on being an Eco-friendly "GREEN" art studio. Gathering materials for my tables involve obtaining discarded high quality materials from construction sites before they leave for the landfill. Installation of large PVC pipes used for water lines typically produce cut off pieces that are discarded. The "bell ends" are what I seek in creating my tables. Other materials include salvaged metal re-bar, Styro-board, Styrofoam peanuts, cut stone remnants, glass block / bottles and scrap wood.
These are PVC pipe "Bells" from water pipes often cut off the pipe and thrown into the dumpster.
These large sections of PVC pipe will last far longer outside then other materials such as wood or metal. They will last many, many years in the elements.
Marble / Granite business throw away remnants of beautiful stone of all types after cutting counter tops. I rescue these materials for my tables.
Styrofoam peanuts are ground up and added to my cement mix to make it lighter and easier to shape.
